Atheism is not a belief system. It is a stance on a single subject: the existence of a God. Do you believe in God? Which one? Is it Zeus or Osiris? Maybe Vishnu, Hashem, or Thor. Humankind has invented and worshipped thousands of gods, and chances are you don’t believe in them all. So, when it comes to Odin, for example, you are an atheist. So even if you love Jesus, Allah, or Spaghetti Monsters, you are atheistic towards all other deities. And those of us who don’t believe in any gods are simply atheists about one more supreme being.
